City Clerk

Germaine Key was appointed on March 22, 2022, by the City of Fontana City Council as City Clerk to fill the seat until the November 2022 election results are certified.

Deputy City Clerk Christina Rudsell, CMC, is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department. The Deputy City Clerk is appointed by the City Manager and is the custodian of the official records of the City of Fontana. The Deputy City Clerk manages the Citywide Records Management Program.


Responsibilities

The City Clerk’s Department is responsible for:

  • Preparing agendas and minutes for all City Council meetings
  • Processing all public records requests, subpoenas, claim forms, agreements / contracts, resolutions, and ordinances.
  • Maintaining the Municipal Code for the City
  • Election Administration
  • Processing board commission applications for appointment
  • Campaign Disclosure and Economic Interest reports filings


The City Clerk’s Department also serves as the City’s filing officer for campaign statements and conflict of interest statements as required by the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC). The Deputy City Clerk is the election filing officer and is responsible for coordinating all city elections.
