The Air Support Unit aids the patrol officer on the street. The helicopter can respond quickly to crimes that are in-progress, resulting in more arrests, and recovery of stolen property.

- Operates one 10-hour shift per day, four days a week
- Provides aerial photography and aerial surveillance
- Provides an aerial platform for disaster response
- Assists other agencies within the County of San Bernardino
